Having been part of several commercial mythology-based projects as a character designer & visual storyteller, I have not only helped shape other’s concepts and visions into visual narratives, but also developed a deeper understanding and personal insight into certain subjects and characters. 

I approached these characters very differently, consciously setting aside the familiar representations we are accustomed to seeing on the internet, films and comic books.

Daruma,  has become one of my favourite characters over the past year, ever since my pottery mentor in Dharamshala introduced him into my life.

 These explorations  eventually culminated in this series of artworks for this Coming from Mud series.
