This is a beautiful textile art from Gujrat. It shows the godess Durga riding a tiger with a sword in her hand. hand dyed and hand painted with gorgeous deep red color with black lines keeps it simple and elegant.

Mata Ni Pachedi "behind the Mother Goddess", is a ritual textile painting tradition originating from Gujrat. These cloth panels serve as portable shrines or sacred backdrops for the worship of the Mother Goddess (Mata) and are intrinsically associated with the  Vaghri community. 

The textiles are combination of block print and hand painting depicting divine stories, goddesses, and narratives, serving as a devotional backdrop for worship.

While for worship the chadar is large, we offer a small viginette from the original textiles for the show.
