Elephant riders -A small vignette from the large traditional chadar of Mata Ni Pachedi tradition. Shows 2 figures seated on a black elephant. Created in natural dyes adding to the beauty of the artwork.
Mata Ni Pachedi "behind the Mother Goddess", is a ritual textile painting tradition originating from Gujrat. These cloth panels serve as portable shrines or sacred backdrops for the worship of the Mother Goddess (Mata) and are intrinsically associated with the Vaghri community.
The textiles are combination of block print and hand painting depicting divine stories, goddesses, and narratives, serving as a devotional backdrop for worship.
while for worship the chadar is large, we offer a small viginette from the original textiles for the show.
The artwork is available framed.
