Echoes of Durga
Durga is born of fire and fury, of grace and grit. In this piece, I shape her not only as the slayer of Mahishasura, but as the embodiment of collective strength—crafted from stoneware clay, carved through sgraffito and high-fired to echo her fierce resilience. Each line etched into the surface carries the memory of her many arms, each weapon gifted by the gods, each gesture a promise of protection.
She rides not just a lion, but the pulse of resistance in every woman who stands her ground. In contemporary life, Durga lives in protest, in nurture, in the quiet defiance of care. This work is my invocation—of Shakti as both myth and mirror, of the goddess who rises when the world needs her most.
