Shiva is worshipped in many different forms.
The Lingam is perhaps the most sacred and popular form. It was during the Kushana
period that carved human faces, upon the Lingam, became a popular art form, the
Mukhalingams. My series, “Gotta Have Faith” is an entire
collection and installation which speaks about faith,…and the hash we are making of it; of reinterpreting the manifold imagery of thousands of stone lingams that dot our
subcontinent, and our parched rivers that try and conceal them. The lingams,
Mukhalingams and Navagraha bells form the installation, Gotta Have Faith. Come visit it on a full moon night!
